OK Horseclaw, some good suggestions. narrow down to what bar, then we will pick some place for food in the same area. i'll buy you dinner for helping make sure this comes together here nicely.

I'm helping a friend out at the M Room on Saturday. He called me last minute cause he doesn't trust any of the sound guys there. Anyway, the band plays at 12 so I'm probably not gonna be able to get to another bar anytime before 2. Plenty of parking and easy to get too, if you people wanna roll through. Should be lots of drunk girls too.

Damn, well the mroom is a pretty good suggestion except for the fact that there's a $7 cover. That place is always either totally packed or totally empty. But for that night, I'm thinking it will be packed. It is pretty far north. On the upside, it's true that i've never had trouble parking there.

You mean the bar that's actually called "Dive" on Passyunk, right? Another good suggestion, but the downstairs is too narrow. Do you know if there is a lot more space upstairs? Would there be an event on Saturday?

I'm also thinking about restaurants and South Philly has a number of them. I'm still leaning towards the POPE (Pub On Passyunk East). Lots of space, typically not crowded as it's still pretty new (although I have never been on a Saturday), usually parking nearby (if not i know lots of people get away with parking in the Acme lot), and a good beer selection. Besides it's close to my house. Dive is walkable too, just not sure about the space.

Might have to go out for some "research" beers tonight.

the upstairs room at the dive is repectable, it gets packed by like 10 but if you're in there like at 9 you own the place
