VOTE NOW - SXSW Interactive awards - QR makes the top 5

Postby Jimmi » Sat Feb 09, 2008 9:33 am

People's Choice - You can vote once a day, every day!
https://secure.sxsw.com/peoples_choice/

Quadradius makes its way into the top 5 in South By South West’s (SXSW) 2008 Interactive Awards in Austin Texas. We are competing against some good titles, but are already super excited to have made it this far. The winner is going to be announced on a Sunday evening, March 9th at the 11th annual awards gala. There will also be a People’s Choice Awards that you can all vote for, too. We will let you know when voting opens. Start exercising your click finger now.

I want to thank everyone who plays QR, and especially all of our close, yet distant, friends here on the Quadboard.

And as another crazy turn of events happens within the realm of QR, our own Brad Kayal, the game’s art director (and one of my best friends), is in the top 5 for personal portfolio work for his BradKayal.com.

SXSW has notoriously been known for being a huge, week long event that showcases musicians from around the world, but have began to include film and interactive. Read about this massive undertaken in their SXSW history section.

This whole SXSW thing is pretty awesome (especially if you've anything like me and have been following the bands that play there and/or have been trying to play there for years). I posted a blog about it on Myspace

SXSW has finally gotten back into favor with hipsters... this should be huuuuge for you guys. Congrats.

Also, Brainbombs will be down there this year. Check their set out if possible... they may play "Ass Fucking Murder". Delightful.

How can we build a pass-phrase generator for this shit? I have like six domains with unlimited e-mail addresses... there should be no reason QR should lose this award.

Or are you guys of the play fair contingent?

any abuse is probably highly detectable. even the fact that their is a sign-up process will keep the actual vote counts low. for example, QR might only get like 50 votes, but it may be enough to win. So if all the sudden one game gets 1,000, and all the rest have like 50 votes, they will call shenanigans (and i would, too). So i am just going to do what they say, and vote everyday.

The question is, what will Brad vote for?

That blows a big one that we can't vote for both of you guys. Brad, I gotta say I appreciate what you do, but I'm obliged to vote for the game I'm so addicted to.

I know you guys can't vote everyday, but just a reminder to check in when you remember, or each time you read this thread. I almost forgot to vote today myself. shame.

i bookmarked it and cast my first vote, ill continue to do so everyday.

Good luck man.

also i hope brad considers a QR win as a personal win. When faced with that choice I have to go with the option that supports the both of you.

you guys rule!
